Hello Trashies and welcome to the second installment to the Milan Massacre. I KNOW there is some major RHONJ gossip that has dropped since this episode aired and frankly I do think we should talk about it at the end of this recap
We pick up from the lunch and bitch where Melissa is getting ready to split for a bike ride with Siggy and Danielle. Teresa surprises Lady Marge and Borlores with private cooking classes with a local chef and they will be making dinner for all of them tonight.
Teresa and her band of merry ladies are on their way to meet Chef Alberto for the cooking class and either they went back to the hotel to change or this is a whole different day because they are all wearing different outfits.
It will never not be funny
They meet up with Chef Alberto who is hanging out in front of the store sniffing tomatoes. Once inside he makes Marge bag eggs and Borlores order prosciutto from the butcher in Italian. Then she tells a story that makes no sense about her Italian mom would make 50 meatballs that never made it to the table. Alberto explains the cacio cavallo and when they ask if its horse cheese the butcher gives them a visual.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, I like a dirty deli man with a sense of humor
Melissa is the first to arrive to the bike tour wearing a shirt that says fashionably late. FinallyDanielle and …. Siggy arrive! She hides behind Danielle so it seems like she bailed but at the last minute she decided she wasn’t going to listen to her husband
production told her she had to stay. The girls brought picnic baskets with wine to share and they are off. Danielle informs us that her cookie is getting smushed and that it’s not so small anymore, too much information. Siggy is loving the bike ride and a day without sooooooooo much drama.
At the cooking class Alberto has taken them to his house to get the pasta started. Bore looks like this is her first time while Teresa is all like, yeah, I KNOW how to make pasta buts it’s nice to cook with others too. At the point Teresa says it time to put it through the machine and Alberto tells her no machine today and demonstrates how to knead, roll and hand cut pasta. I got to say this looks amazing and now I want to try this method too. Now time for the tartare, Bore and Lady Marge volunteer Tre because she has a lot of sexual frustrations to work out.
This wood is so hard!
Tre gets a little too into it and tiny piece of the wood end in the meat rendering it inedible.
The bike riding ladies stop in the park for some sparkling wine and to discuss how everyone is feeling from last night’s events and their talk from earlier in the day. Siggy says that her main issue is Marge’s meanness but as Melissa points out she has a sharp tongue when it comes to everyone but she is not insensitive nor anti-Semitic.
And Siggy starts to cry
For a moment, I feel a little bad for Siggy because I have been at odds with an entire group of friends where I didn’t feel like I was being understood or my side of the story was acknowledged. BUT it was a way different situation. Then Siggy immediately diminishes all that good faith by saying she doesn’t understand why the girls aren’t upset with Marge she has never known people to witness bad behavior and not admonish people for that behavior. Um Siggy that IS what they are doing, but to you.
Siggy says in her talking head that she knows realizes she expected too much from her reality TV friends, and maybe but you can’t expect people to do and feel a certain way just because you do. In the park Siggy really starts to get worked up and Melissa tells her she is making her nervous. She shakes off Melissa’s comfort and again explains why Hitler is such a strong word to her. Siggy says she gave Lady Marge a chance to apologize and she didn’t, maybe because she is tired to apologizing for merely living at this point. Danielle interrupts her and points out that she is asking Marge to adhere to a script that she doesn’t know about. Now that is a good analogy. Siggy is like well, in my rule book there are certain references that shouldn’t be made. Melissa tells her that she doesn’t want Siggy to think she are not understanding where she is coming from, but that Siggy needs to admit that Marge’s feelings are valid and she is upset too. Siggy’s response, “she came at me first.” UGH, Siggy. Melissa admits that in order for this to all blow over Siggy needs to come half way on all this and she isn’t ready. Siggy promises to attend dinner but she doesn’t want to talk about anything and Melissa tells her she is fine if they don’t speak at all.
At Alberto’s, he is perfecting the dinner when the biking girls arrive. Teresa wants to spray the girls with champagne when they walk in and Marge tells her that she should. Yes, that will go over like a fart in church after all one of the girls walking in put herself on imaginary cross over thrown cake. Instead she jumps out them with the bottle aimed right at them but corked. There are hugs and kisses all around but now its Lady Marge’s turn to feel traumatized because she doesn’t feel like she can say anything without offending Siggy over the smallest things, so she has resolved to say nothing at all.
Tre makes a toast a to friendship and in a barely whisper after the glasses clink “ and maybe new beginnings.” Danielle talks about making homemade pasta and tiramisu and all the sex Marty gets. Siggy is uncomfortable and doesn’t want Lady Marge to talk to her but at the other end of the table Lady Marge is equally uncomfortable because everyone is just glossing over what happened the night before. Melissa notices how quiet Marge is being and understands that she is sort of damned if she does and damned if she doesn’t. Melissa excuse herself to get water and takes Marge with her, Siggy knows that they are going to talk about her.
Out on the patio Lady Marge hobbles in her peach day-to-night lingerie dress as she explains that she is uncomfortable. Melissa tells her that they are trying to get through to Siggy but she just wanted to make sure that she was ok.
I want to fake my own death to get away from Siggy Flicker at this point
Back at the table Siggy is defending her feelings and emotions…. again. Teresa says she understands, she doesn’t like the word prison because she doesn’t want it to define her, besides campses sounds more fun. Melissa is all, I can’t believe how real Tre is getting right now. Marge takes this as her opening to apologize to Siggy.
I am so sorry I had no idea that was a trigger word for you and I am truly sorry for offending you and it won’t happen again
Sheesh even the cat got tired waiting for you to acknowledge Marge
The next dish comes out and everyone is thankful for the interruption. So, Danielle decides to acknowledge the apology and tells her that she is so glad she did that, then Tre chimes in and says it brought tears to her eyes because she wants everyone to get along
Marge just gave this great apology and Siggy is all like go fuck yourself
Back in Jersey, Uncle Joe stops by to let the girls know they are hell on wheels and to fix the sink. He wants them to do something nice for their mom and they settle on throwing her surprise party.
Namaste bitches I’m in Milan “modeling”
Marge is taking her breakfast in the tub because she is stressed. The ladies are separating for the day. Danielle and Lady Marge are going to the shoe factory to see about shoe production. Teresa and Siggy are going to go pray. Bore and Melissa are going to go get gelato. Danielle stops in to see Bore and Siggy before the day starts and they are super happy to see her. Just kidding Borlores is all eye rolls and dirty looks while Siggy sees her all dressed up mid-day and asks if she is going to a Bar Mitzvah. A shady way to say only working girls are that dressed up before 5:00 PM.
Lady Marge and Danielle are off to the shoe factory. Marge is bringing Danielle because she is a shoe fanatic. In the car Danielle tells Marge about stopping at Siggy’s room to talk about Marge’s apology because she felt anti-Semite was a very big deal, which is hilarious given that fact that Danielle was denied full-time housewife because of a video-taped racist rant…allegedly. Marge agrees and says it was especially hurtful given that she has raised Jewish children. [OH, one point that I forgot to point out in the fight at the restaurant in the last recap was that Borlores can be heard saying that fact doesn’t matter because she isn’t Jewish herself at the same time Siggy is saying the same. I thought that was rich coming from "the stay out of the fights that don’t involve you directly.”] But Marge doesn’t want anyone to force an apology out of her because she doesn’t want one if it’s not genuine. She just wants her to admit that calling her anti-Semitic was wrong because she aligned her with a hate group and that is disgusting.
Teresa and Siggy are strolling arm and arm to find a place to pray. While Melissa discovers phone booths still exist in Italy.
Hello, Siggy it’s, me Melissa. I just wanted to you know by the time this episode airs everyone is going to hate you
In an industrial part of Italy Danielle and Marge arrive at the shoe factory.Lady Marge talks business with the women showing her around, production turnaround and price points. After she tries and fails to turn a man onto women she admits in her talking head that although this factory is known for superior craftsmanship and quality, the price point is too high so it may not be the right fit.
Teresa and Siggy happen upon a picture of Jesus posing in Siggy’s favorite floor pose on the side of an arch. Teresa invited her along on this day because she knew she was upset about missing the beach memorial when she felt that getting air time for her friend’s juice store was more important. Teresa talks about her mom and Siggy says she knows that she feels like she missed time with her when she was a campses but she thinks it’s was good because she got to bond with her girls. Sure, I guess but Grandpa Eyebrows and Nona spent A LOT of time with the Giudice girls prior to that. In fact, and Hot Cawfeee can correct me if I am wrong, but in those seasons when Joe and Tre were not all brotherly/sisterly love one of his main complaints was that she treated their parents like unpaid nannies. Teresa says that Siggy showing how much she cares about her mom and her loss proves that Siggy has a big heart and lots of feelings. I don’t think it’s a lack of feelings Siggy suffers from. I think she suffers from the fact that she thinks her feeling matter more than anyone else’s.
They find a bench and have a sit and shat (typo and it stays) about how great it was to actually eat an entire meal last night. Siggy apologies about her behavior on the first night but she had just been holding so much in (hahahahaha) that it all just came out and it all started with Soggy Flicker. UGH, Marge apologized for that, you made t-shirts to poke fun at yourself about it BUT now it’s a problem again. Teresa says she thought Soggy was funny and nothing like being called an adulteree. Siggy disagrees hurt is hurt.
Gurl, are you serious
Teresa also says that Marge is very snarky and says things sarcastically. Siggy says she says things in poor taste and then doesn’t apologize. Tre points out that she apologized last night and Siggy agrees she did but IF SHE WAS TRULY SORRY she would have apologized the first night when she asked her to. Siggy must be really fun to be married to. Tre reminds her that the other night was very intense and there really was no chance for her to get a word in edge wise. Since Siggy thinks that Tre is filled with rainbows and sunshine, she is going to think about what she said and consider accepting Marge’s umpteenth apology for the season.
Melissa and Borlores dressed in the boots she thinks goes with everything but truly need to burned are strolling arm and arm talking about men. Borlores imaginary boyfriend hasn’t called her since she has been in Italy but it’s cool because she doesn’t require much attention, although she does require more than he gives. Bore admits that right now she has the best of both worlds, she has a man who takes her out wines and dines her but also her best friend at home to hang out with and film with.
They stop a place for gelato and Bore brings up Melissa’s face while Marge was apologizing. I think because she thought Melissa would talk to shit about Marge but really it was because it was so unexpected and she was in complete shock. Bore says Siggy was not expecting it and she didn’t think it would happen. Further she couldn’t respond because emotionally she wasn’t ready.
I love how many passes and excuses Siggy is allotted that do not extend to anyone but herself. Borlores says she knew Siggy’s silence was not her being an ass because if she wanted to be a jerk she should have just done so. Yes, we have seen that in the flesh. Melissa says that Lady Marge has continually been the bigger person in each situation and that is not easy. Bore is like yeah, I saw that last night. Melissa tells her being called anti-Semitic is bad and Borlores again excuses Siggy by saying everyone says bad things when they are angry. Melissa tells her that Siggy needs to take the comment back. Then Melissa says that thing I hate the most, hanging out with men is far less drama. Men are drama kings too, they just get over things faster.
The ladies are getting ready for their big dinner, the theme of the night must be pink.
Hello, it’s me Marilyn Monroe the golden years
Melissa bought Marge a charm bracelet with tiny Milan charms to remember the trip and Marge tells her the time they spent together was the most memorable time of the trip. Marge tells her that she didn’t even know there was such a thing as trigger words until she met Siggy. Melissa says there are, for her it used to be “stripper.” Then Bravo treats us to montage of Melissa being called a stripper.
They are having dinner in the hotel in a private room just in case things get crazy. Melissa begins to make a toast but before she can finish Siggy interjects and makes a gesture to Marge. She thanks Marge for her apology last night and says she needed time to process that apology but she doesn’t think anyone should eve reference Hitler and begin to cry. Marge says she understand that and now knows it is a trigger word for her, however she wants to know if she genuinely feels she is anti-Semitic? Siggy says she wants to believe that she isn’t, which isn’t the same as saying,” NO,” so there is that. But all these moments that have been adding up from being attacked by Marge and then the Hitler statement made her think well maybe she is just anti-Semitic because you know if you don’t love Siggy, Super Jew and all her neurosis then obviously that is the only thing you could be.
When I said that I wasn’t thinking about your feelings and you know I am sorry
Marge is in disbelief because that it not an apology and she is right. Marge tells her that for her it isn’t even about her feelings it’s that she aligned her with a hate group and could ruin every relationship in her life, because aside from this group every person in her life, all her friends and family are Jewish.
I did not know that about you
ORLY, and here I thought you brought her in and were such good friends. Regardless, Siggy’s excuse that she didn’t know that while Marge was trying to tell her that her ex-husband is Jewish and raised her children Jewish and Siggy screaming “IT DOESN’T MATTER,” seems a lot more awful.
Do you understand that it relationship ending, career ending and all that value in my life
Siggy interrupts and tells her that’s the same way she felt when she said Hitler’s name. Marge tells her that mentioning a name does not ruin her life. Siggy is like well I wasn’t thinking when I said that it would effect you in any way to call you a name like that it was the heat of the moment.
You probably should not have admitted that
Melissa says that she doesn’t think Siggy understands the gravity of the situation of what she said but she is glad she apologized. Melissa tries to help Siggy clarify that she does not believe that Marge is anti-Semitic, but she does think she in anti-Siggy because the minute she introduced her to everyone she ditched her. SIGGY WE KNOW THIS SHOW IS DONE THROUGH CASTING THEY ALL ARE, STOP WITH THIS EXCUSE. She says it’s like she took her to a wedding and she ditched her at cocktail hour. Siggy says her other problem it her delivery. Instead of responding Marge asks her a simple question…
Do you think you are always very compassionate because a lot times you are a total asshole
I have a lot of compassion when it comes to me
Siggy says she is only human and not perfect. Marge says she needs to extend some of the forgiveness she gives to herself to other people because had she known her better she would know that she wouldn’t say something to hurt her on purpose, which was what she initially said to her at the diner. Marge tells her that she gets in her own head when it comes to her and Siggy agrees. Tre makes it clear that no one is taking sides and Borlores says this all needs time to heal because eventually they will all be together in a room (at the reunion) and there should be peace. Siggy agrees and tells Tre who ever thought her and Danielle would be sitting here together in Milan. Marge says she doesn’t want to wait seven years for peace, she’ll be 60 by then and she’s not doing this shit. This brings the conversation to her birthday party that will be disco themed, Studio 54 to be exact.
Teresa doesn’t know what it is because she is only 45, she was born in the 70’s. Ok Teresa, sure go rent the Ryan Phillippe movie that came out when you were in your 20’s then.
Only 2 episodes left before the reunion and already we have a spoiler. Siggy is done and officially announced that she quit RHONJ on Friday, December 22. The internet and comment sections have been abuzz with rumors and insinuations as to why this happened but what I think is the most interesting is the timing of the announcement. Celebrity gossip has been a long-time hobby of mine and everyone knows big announcements are made on Fridays for a reason AND right before a big holiday weekend makes it even more suspect. Very few housewives have quit before the current season has ended and this lends itself to those rumors that something very big went down at the reunion. Who knows if we will actually get to see that footage, there have been other rumors that certain footage will not be able to be used due to lawsuits while other rumors have stated that the production company ran out of money and that is why this season was cut short. Whatever the real reason may be, this is sure to effect next season’s filming schedule as they will have to recast and who knows what this means for Borlores. What do you all think? Do you think Siggy was fired or quit because her hand was forced? Let me know in the comments below!
