Redmeph

Lying and deceit are my stock in trade. Not only am I English, but I'm incredibly sexy too. I'm an atheist who works in marketing, so its a good job I'm an atheist. I've gone freelance again, despite the fact that the last time I tried that I nearly starved to death. So in about three weeks, that guy at the bins, that'll be me. Classic!

I can’t take credit. Stole it from “Dodgeball”

Agreed, totally. US MasterChef really worked in its first three seasons, but starting on season 4 it has become a drama fest. Canada version started iffy but has gotten better, and it’s recent season (it’s third one so far) was quite good. I also like the Australia version and the Spain version, but dislike the Argentina version, which is another drama fest.

I have no problems with vegetarians, I have problems with whiners, and I had enough of that last year. Having said that …

…the US version of Masterchef made a conscious choice to become the show it is, and it always goes for the faked up drama. I genuinely find even the ‘celebrity’ versions of UK Masterchef more entertaining as its totally unscripted and all about the food. The judges are the two guys in front of you, and not the producers. All the drama, of which there is little, is based on what people cook. It makes for a more entertaining show.

OK that does exclude seasons 2 and 3 of US Masterchef, which were ace.

    That is colorful!!

Ironic as it is, the most recent season of MasterChef Canada had a vegetarian in it, and it came up often but she never really whined about the “disadvantages” of cooking meat and stuff, she just went full in there and got it done. Hell, ultimately she won the whole thing. It was overall a dang good season with little drama, just genuinely strong cooks making good stuff, whereas the American version hasn’t jumped the shark, it has been using it as a goddamn circus act constantly since season 4.

Ahhh! Redmeph, you’re too funny! Great screen cap of Lisa Anne looking like she’s burning Gordy!

  • Redmeph

I have had it put to me that Lisa-Ann did it deliberately and the whole thing was staged – but yes it was definitely not as dangerous as it at first seemed. It was funny though.

It will never replace “Useful as a poopy-flavored lollipop” for me.

Useful as a chocolate teapot is my new favorite phrase..thank you!

I don’t think Gordy was as close to the pan as it appeared. If you look at the angle after the commercial break, he’s a good distance away.

That said, before they even started the elimination challenge, I predicted one of the two blondes would go home. They’re the two we know the least about, so in true Masterchef fashion, the C-Team (the people we know little to nothing about) goes first.

I don’t think the eyebrow burning helped. It was a fucking stupid thing to do when someone else was so close to the pan.

Nathan is a curious little egg. He wears evening suits, but they’re so bad no respectable establishment would let him in. If he’s going to assume formal dress he should be wearing a day suit. Otherwise he does risk ending up looking like a kid’s entertainer down on his luck.

Of course Shaun had no trouble killing and then laying out the body. He strikes me as a sociopath.
