Over on Team Smash, Catwoman Amanda jumps the gun and appoints Jonathan and Creeper Ori (who just admitted he doesn’t know anything about boats wah wah waaaaaaah) as team leaders. Jonathan is super excited so 80/20 Heather decides to slap him in the face with cardboard to calm him down
Realizing Ori’s track record of breaking things (see episode 1 montage), Jonathan appoints 80/20 Heather to be in charge of making the outer shell of the boat, while Smug Colby, Battle Rabbi Ori and Catwoman to be minions, but not the cute, yellow, over-all wearing kind.
Notably the team is working fairly well together until we get to the issue of the oars. Is Heather vs Ori in what I can only call the beginning of World War Nerd. The opening shots are taken by Heather (who has fabulously turned into Heather Chandler from a glorious 80’s movie appropriately named Heathers) when she yells at Ori about wasting too much time making an oar. It is also in this moment that I realize that Heather and I are almost exactly the same person with one key difference. While Heather voices her frustration out load, I make faces and roll my eyes when other people aren’t looking. But maybe that’s just because she has confessionals. God she is owning them this episode. Mostly Heather is frustrated because she is doing about a zillion and one things and Oar-i (see what I did there?) can’t make a simple oar.
In House Hooloovoo (which kinda sounds like what we should call all hulu videos. A hulu-voo), Cylon Queen Kaitlin continues her reign with an iron fist, stepping up to lead the team. They immediately start painting the cardboard with wood paint/glue/whatever and wrapping it in duct tape to prevent the cardboard from getting water logged.
The team then makes the educated “decision” to make Todd the Bod the spotter – meaning he does not need to ride in the boat meaning we get the “it’s not personal” speeches from everyone meaning I’m rolling my eyes in frustration. Apparently the nerds all have a ton of balls this season and Ben straight up tells Todd the Bod he is the weakest link.
Todd the Bod senses that there is some favoritism and romance among the House Hulu-voo and quickly realizes he is the Pumbaa to Kaitlin’s Simon and they sing to themselves….
