So, correct me if I’m wrong…but it seems like the catalyst for polygamy livin’ in the Richards house was the desire to not be alone on the couch while the little woman was busting her hump in the kitchen? Thank goodness the Bible had something about polygamy so now he can cuddle a lady while eating cookies straight from the oven.

And some people say the Bible is pointless.

So, I’m ok to post I guess?

Be forewarned, this will be a bigger let down than a night you-know-who.

Here’s the thing, I just knew when they started this road trip to meet up with a random polygamist family, that family was going to be somehow “less than” the Clowns (uh, Browns). No way Kody was going to a chance another debacle like the time they hosted their “friends” the good looking polygamist family with the handsome-man-with-the-plan father figure. Not only were his wives in serious need of fainting couches (although, aren’t they ALWAYS!) but K-man had to deal with coming up with a dagnabit friggin Mission Statement for what seemed like years?!

Sorry for the let down. That’s it. Say it with we kids: That what Kody says!

  • PattiPrincess

I’ll be upfront. I care as deeply as one can care about the Kodester and Krew and my actual comment here is totally poignant, Dude. But, I gotta take care of me first, Kody would want it that way (except I’m a girl, so? Wait? Whatever). Before I bestow on you my awesome comment I need to see if this non-comment goes through. If you don’t understand Kody’s Mensa ways you can’t hope to understand what my strategy means. Also, lots of medicine involved. I’m home sick. In July. Yeah.
If my non-commitment, I mean non-comment goes through, I’ll tell you all my little take on this wonderful show! Are you about as excited as a winner at the Kiss Kody Kontest? I can only imagine!

They all SAY polygamy is the cats pajamas. Then they ACT like it’s anything but.

It’s having a corporation’s bullshit “core values” continue to run your life even after you punch out at 5 pm. You don’t believe it, and neither does the company, but you have to SAY you believe it–or else.

One thing that bugged me in this episode is how Christine seems to say that polygamy is good, then she goes on to say how hard it is for the kids who often get teased at school and become outcasts. Remind me again, how is polygamy good if it makes childhood so difficult?!

  • The Critic

I’m not sure why but I liked the Richards family. They seemed to have none of the Beown family drama and greed. Their kids seemed friendly and intelligent. And there was just much more of a peaceful feeling among them. The Browns are so chaotic that it would stress me out.

Yeah, the first bite thing was weird, but otherwise I thought their family seemed to be more functional than the dysfunctional Browns. On a positive note, at least they eat meals together, which is more than we can say for the Brown “family.”

Penny, did you just choose Kody over someone else?!?!?!

I didn’t watch this episode yet and now I am wishing I wasn’t working today so I could watch it right now. I mean, the babies in my home daycare are sleeping right now, but I can’t really turn on the TV without waking them all up and ruining the rest of our day.

This Nathaniel dude must be a real piece of work for you to go Team Kody. I wonder if that’s why TLC had them make the trip…they knew viewers questioned the wives staying with Kody and the thought they’d show us the other polygamist options in the country.

I am biting my nails waiting for the rest of the recap. And just so I know, should I withhold food for an hour prior to watching? Kody makes me nauseated as it is, will Nathaniel just put me over the edge?

I don’t think the Richards were talking about their ‘friends’ who shared a bedroom, if you get what I mean. Can’t wait for your re cap!
